This is a pretty common site around our house these days, Tucker signing “MORE” as in I’m hungry and want more of whatever you have.   When I’m preparing dinner Tucker will often ask for more at the edge of the counter.  As a result, he’s eaten just about everything: lemons, celery, blue cheese, etc.

Apologies for being out of focus, but he gets pretty demanding so it’s hard to get a good shot.

Another milestone the little guy is hurtling is feeding himself.  In this case one of his favorites, (abuela’s) black beans.  🙂

And like everything else, once Tucker has done it himself there is no going back.  Or taking the spoon away.

Adventures in Eating!

With the spooky and the scary upon us, we headed out into the beautiful morning sunshine for a costumed parade around the neighborhood.  Many shop owners were handing out candy, but we avoided the handouts (much to dad’s chagrin).  I feel bad for those teachers.  The kids were loading up on all things chocolate on the street, and the good stuff too.  Not those cheap peanut butter taffy things in the brown and orange wrappers.  Nor were there any smarties to be had in this quaintly affluent hood!  Then each toddler had a giant frosted sugar cookie awaiting them on the snack table AND they were giving out heavy pours of full-strength Hawaiian Punch.  Did you ever see that scene in District 9 where all the aliens rip apart the security officer once his weapons were empty?  That’s what I’m talking about.  Good thing for Tucker’s teachers he only got a bottle.

So here they are, I couldn’t choose so I’m posting a whole mess of ’em.  I defy you to not want this little monkey trashing your next party!

Tucker’s buddy Luke was stomping all over the place.  You can only point elephants in the right direction though, don’t try to tell them how to get there!  The floppy ears were the best.

Tucker was not subtle about his feelings for dad’s shaggy head messing up the cute vibe he had worked so hard to culminate.

School Halloween Parade

So this video is from a month ago, but it’s still great.  Tucker recently discovered his feet and is taking full advantage of that baby flexibility to acquaint himself orally with his feet.  If his flexibility is inherited in any way from me, this will be one of the last times he will be able to do this!

Houston … We Have FEET!

Tucker had his very first ride in a shopping cart last weekend at Trader Joe’s. I wasn’t planning on ashopping cart ride yet (we have one of those super plush inserts thanks to Grandma Bonnie) but when I parked the cart was next to my car. I eyed it then tried him out and couldn’t believe he fit

He loved it! Lots of people stopped to talk to him and outright didn’t believe he was six months old. Also there were so many brightly colored objects to reach for, had it not been for the strap he surely would’ve fallen out. Future foodie for sure.

First Flight

This past Sunday, Ben and I found ourselves overbooked.  Ben originally thought the animation geek-fest he wanted to attend started at 5pm, but it actually started at 2.  This directly conflicted with my noonish practice time since driving 10 miles in LA takes at least an hour.

I could’ve stayed home and taken what some would consider a much needed nap, but no.  I am determined to: get my game back, lose the baby weight and (even more importantly) get the little dude accustomed to people and new places.

So, I marched in to practice and announced that my son would happily hang with anyone willing to babysit so Momma can scrimmage.  There were many takers.  A lot of new girls hang out after practice to watch/learn the game and (score!) many of them are Moms.  He spent some time with the new girls but was fussy. The true saver of the day was Evie who had a sling in the car (from use with her amazing lil dude, Fin) and put off packing for Rollercon this weekend to calm Tuckasaurus Rex.

Tucker was out almost immediately.

He woke up eventually and when Evie wasn’t flying him down the line Super Baby style, he was watchin some derby.  Though Tucker has been to the derby before I’m pretty sure this is the first time he actually watched.

My OB has a pretty good sense of humor.
